Brush your teeth

We went for a trip to the dental clinic. It was really exciting because we all took turns to sit these special chairs. The dental nurse talked to us about what we need to do to take care of our teeth. We have made a little movie to share our learning.

Now That's Thinking

This term the children in Team 1 will be making things that fly. We will be making kites, paper jet planes and many other amazing things. To celebrate Matariki we will be looking at special foods in various cultures and may have a go at trying to make some foods. Below is a movie made by the Team One Teachers called "The four kites of Matariki."

Te Taiao O Tamamaki- The environment of Tamaki

This morning we had a wonderful opportunity to visit Te Oro Music and Arts centre in Glen Innes.
Children from schools within the cluster shared their learning through live performances and expositions. We saw some amazing displays and performances.

We are so excited to go to Te Oro

We are going by bus. Yeah!

The senior Kapa Haka group performed for us.

The performance was amazing. They sang beautifully.
We were so proud of them.

What we can do with our rubbish. Sommerville Special School showed us: Things we could make with containers, plastic and paper.  We saw yogurt containers shaped and designed to make caterpillars.
Plastic chip bags and cookie bags were cut and made into beautiful butterflies.
A wonderful display. Thank-you Sommerville Special School.

Wheels, Whacky hair and Mufti Day

Today we had wacky hair, wheels and mufti day at school. We had to donate a gold coin for this event. The funds raised will be going to the senior school.
Some children in Room 18 brought wheels to school. We are so happy that the sun came out and we got a chance to ride our wheels.

It is lunch time.
Jabal, Maddie and Zara are excited to their wheels.
Maddie is going to ride her bike on the bike track.

Kiwi Sport

Today in our Kiwi Sport lesson Coach Allen taught us a new skill called catching. We had to choose an object and throw it into the air and catch it using both hands, then with one hand only. We played lots of different games. Coach Allen says that we are the best class. We love Kiwi Sport!
