A Christmas Surprise

Today we had a big surprise. All the children got a Christmas Gift Box from Mrs. Harris. She is Mrs. Shirely's friend. We were so excited to receive these wonderful gifts and couldn't wait to open them. Mrs. Harris also got gifts for our Mothers or the person who looks after us. She is such a kind and generous lady. Thank you Mrs. Harris for the awesome gifts and making us so happy. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  May God Bless You and the things you do for others.

Junior Carnival Day

We had a fun day at school today even though it poured with rain. There were various sport activities and games organised for us by the Kelly Sports team, then we went and played with water guns and went on the water slide that was managed by Ms. Va'afusuaga. We squirted water on Ms. Ana and she was drenched. Mr. Whippy came and we all had ice cream. At lunchtime we had a pizza party. Just when we thought it was all over we had a surprise! Santa came to our class and gave us lollies. We were so excited and happy. We had an awesome day!

Ice - pops

 It has been really hot and we had some ice pops. It was nice and cold.

Sports Awards

Today was a very special day. We got our Sports Awards for Netball and Rippa Rugby. We had a few games and they were great. It was not the best seaon with lockdown happening but we had some good times. Thank you Ms. Va'afusuaga, coaches, managers and parents for supporting and taking care of us.

Prize Giving

We had our Prize Giving celebration today. We had it outside because we had to social distance. The celebration was live streamed so our families could share this special occassion with us. It was a beautiful sunny day. Lots of children got awards for their hard work and efforts in their learning. Then we went onto the stage and sang a song for the school and our parents. It has been a fantastic year and everyone is so proud of us! Later that day, the teachers decided to have our own little celebration so that they could shake our hands and give us our awards. 

Lucky us

 On Friday Mrs. Shirely gave Monaro and Aroha a special gift, new shoes! They were so excited that they decided to wear them all day. Thank-you Mrs. Shirely, you are so kind.

Aroha said, "I like them."

Monaro said, " I like them. They are green and black. I am so happy."

Fruit in schools

We got some delicious strawberries at school today.

Fun with cups

Steven and Faith made a tower using cups. It kept blowing down with the wind but that didn't stop them.

Counting in 5's

 Paula can count in 5's.

Our Garden

 The children in Room 18 enjoyed doing gardening in their classroom bay.

Caylee and Gene are digging a

 hole to plant the flower.

Monaro and Aroha had no problem wearing gloves. 

They got tools ready for planting.

It was really exciting.

We planted some beautiful flowers.

It wasn't tricky for Arthur to put the gloves on.

Mr. Shaw watered our garden for us because plants 

need water and sunlight to grow.

Maths Facts

 Caylee loves Maths and knows her facts to 20.

Lizzy the Lizard

 During playtime Caylee, Aroha, Faith and Genevieve found a baby lizard. They decided to called it Lizzy.  They took care of Lizzy and found her a new and safe home.

Genevieve's Duffy Certificate

Genevieve got the Duffy Certificate for this week for putting lots of effort in reading. She reads smoothly and fluently. Genevieve got a book about space. (Dictated to the teacher)

           Genevieve said: " I am so happy that a got a certificate at school. 

                                      I like learning about Space."

Pineapple craft

 The children in Room Room 18 like painting so we decided to make some cool looking pineapples. We got this idea from Ms. Hockly and her class.

Sing a rainbow

Caylee and Genevieve missed drawing on the whiteboard. They were so excited to be back at school and wanted to share their lovely drawing with us 

Rounding Numbers

 Israel love Maths. He has been learning to round numbers to the nearest 10.

We love reading

 Today we got to choose two books to take home and read. We were so excited and are so very thankful to get these books. We love the stories and pictures in these books.

In the garden

 Paula saw a nest in the tree. The mother bird takes care of the eggs and waits for them to hatch.

Dinosaurs

Part of today's home learning was a craft activity about dinosaurs.
