Prize Giving

Yesterday we had our prize giving. Mr. Burt did the awards and then all the children in Team One went on the stage and sang a song. Harmony, Sione, Mia and Jordyn were in the Kapa Haka group and performed on the stage. All the children in Room 18  worked really hard all year and we are so proud of all of them.

A Good Friend

Room 18 really enjoyed making this movie, showing us, "How we can be a good friend." We have made many friendships during the year and hope that they will grow and blossom as we move on into the New Year. We hope you enjoy our movie. Please leave us a comment on our blog.

On Friday we had our school athletics. It was a hot sunny day and lots of parents came to support us. There were lots of  fun activities. We had a lovely time.

Life's a stage

The children in Rm 18 have been learning to tell stories through dance and drama. We loved the movie made by the Team 1 teachers. Our favourite character was the Fairy Godmother so we decided to make something yummy to eat. Can you guess what we made? Kitty cat

Azahn enjoyed reading the story about Kitty Cat. He said "Kitty cat is hungry and the owner gives her something to eat."

A surprise

It was Sione's birthday and his family surprised him with his favourite, a chocolate cake with a strawberry layered filling. He got lots of presents and was so happy because he thought that everybody had forgotten about his birthday. Happy Birthday Sione, best wishes and lots of love, from Mrs. Lal and your classmates in Room 18.

He got lego books, a transformer and monster trucks.

Feeling proud

Emzjull celebrated her 6th birthday yesterday. Mrs. Wilson came to our class and took Emzjull to do some testing. She had to read letters and write words. She read a few books as well. Emzjull did really well in the test and is now reading at Level 18. Yeah!

We are so proud of you, Emzjull.

Something in the water

This term the children in Team will be learning about animals that live at the Pt.England beach. We will be learning about, how they are suited to their habitat, what they eat, where they live and what they look like? The teachers in Team One made a movie for our immersion assembly. Thank-You ANC

Last week Thursday whilst we were practising on the court with our team two lovely girls approached us and gave the coach and manager a big chocolate bar. Mrs Dwyer and I were quite surprised but they said it was a gift (koha) from Auckland Netball to all coaches and managers. After the game we decided to share the chocolate amongst our players and parents. The girls were super excited. We the children, managers, coaches and parents appreciate all that is being done on your behalf to ensure that the teams learn the skills of netball but most importantly PLAY and have FUN.

The Beekeeper

This week we have been learning about the beekeeper and man made hives. YiYI wrote a lovely story:

Fantastic reading

Levi has worked hard this term with his reading. He reads every night at home and learns his words. Thank-You Nikki for helping him at home.

I like reading. Mrs. Lal asked me to read and I did a good job. I am now reading at Level 9.
