We had a fun Friday. The children in Team One decorated buckets and will fill their buckets by doing kind things for others.

It's Term Four

Welcome back to school and online learning. The children in Team One were excited to see each other online after the holidays. We all thought we'd be back at school but sadly that's not the case and we're " just rolling with it." 

This term our inquiry focus is learning and finding out about all the different groups we belong to. We will be looking at various groups like our family, school, church, sport and community. We will be learning to use our voice to make good and positive choices. We will be thinking of ways of filling our own as well as other people buckets. To find out more please watch our movie.

Healthy Me, Healthy You

This term the children in Room 18 will be learning about being healthy. We will be looking at healthy food, exercise and fitness to have a healthy body and healthy mind. The teachers in Team One made a movie for our whole school immersion assembly.

Term 2 - Watch This Space

Welcome to Term 2!

Our  whole school inquiry focus for this term is "Watch This Space." The children in Team One will be learning about, "Why are the sun and moon are important to us?" For our whole school immersion assembly the teachers made a movie. Enjoy watching our movie and if you know where the sun goes at night please let us know by leaving us a comment on the blog.

Curtain of fire

This term the children in Team One are learning about volcanoes. We had a chat about it at our team assembly hangout session. Sione was really excited and drew a picture of a volcano. He wanted to  share this with us.

Cullai goes exploring

On the weekend Cullai went on a little field trip to explore a volcano called Mt. Taylor. The Maori name for Mt. Taylor is "Taurere" which means "loved one flown away." Cullai lives only about 20 steps away from this small mountain. His mum says that he had a blast exploring and finding rocks around the mountain.

Life's a Stage

This term Team One will be learning to tell stories through dance and drama. It's going to be an exciting term. We hope you enjoy Team One's movie made by the teachers.

I like your latitude

This term the children in Team One are learning all about bees. In the movie below the teachers need the children's help to save the bees. We will be looking at safe ways for the bees to find pollen and then take back to the hive. This will involve lots of directions(left, right, forward, backward, up down, behind above, and so on). We will be creating our own maps and others will be following our instructions/directions using the map to help take the bee to where they need to go.It is going to be a very exciting term.Lots of learning, creating and sharing.

When it is time to eat our fruit we go outside and sit under the tree. Nadi's best friends are ShweShwe and YiYi.(Dictated to the teacher.)

This term the children in team 1 are learning about moving things or objects using simple machines.
The teachers is the team created this movie for our immersion assembly.
