Matariki Day

On Friday we celebrated Matariki Day at school. Matariki is the Maori name for the cluster of stars also known as the Pleiades. It rises in mid-winter and for many Maori, it heralds the start of a New Yaer. It was a fun day where children participated in various activities like sports, movie making, arts and crafts. The children in Room 18 had a wonderful time with their teachers making and creating Matariki crafts.

Welcome to Pt. England School

Joscior is 5 years old started school. He is in Room 18. Joscior has settled well into our classroom routines and is eager to learn.

Kiwi Sport

This term the children in Room 18 are doing gymnastics with Coach Flaminio. Everyone was so excited to start Kiwi Sport again. Coach Flaminio has been at Pt. England school previously and the teachers were delighted to have him at our school again. The children have been learning various skills.
