Writing

Jordyn has been putting lots of effort into her writing. She knows some words and is starting to write some sounds in unknown words.
I am so proud of you, Jordyn.
Well done, you!

Duffy Theatre

We were very lucky to have the Duffy Theatre come and perform for us at our school. The show was awesome with a lovely story, good actors and lovely costumes.

Duffy's sister Susan, played games all the time and did not like reading.

Duffy got swallowed into the game and turned into bricks.

Duffy was in the game and had to go through all the levels so
he could get out and go back home..

The dismantler always broke down his bricks and
Duffy had to start all over again.

Susan had to read a book to help Duffy get out.

The children helped Duffy with the bricks.
Each brick had a letter on it and it was a clue to help Duffy.
Susan got swallowed into the game too
and she was chose to be a pirate.

Together they tried to find clues in the book to help them.

The clues were in the book and this helped  Duffy and Susan
find their way out of the game.

What's for lunch?

Levi  loves eating tomatoes. He brings to school all the time. Not many children like tomatoes but Levi likes sucking out the juice first and then eats the rest of his tomatoe.
Yummy!

Happy Birthday, Mia

Yesterday we celebrated Mia's 6th Birthday. Her mum brought a cake for the class. Mia was really excited and so were we. Mia's sisters  joined in on the celebrations. Thank-you to Mia's mum and family for letting us be part of this very special day. Best wishes Mia and we hope you bring love and laughter wherever you go. Happy Birthday, sweetheart. With lots of love-From Mrs Lal and the children from Room 18.
What a lovely cake, Mia!

We sang for Mia and then she blew all the candles out.
It was a bit tricky, but she kept blowing until they were out.

Mia was ver excited and couldn't wait to eat her cake.

Yummy!

I like your latitude

This term the children in Team One are learning all about bees. In the movie below the teachers need the children's help to save the bees. We will be looking at safe ways for the bees to find pollen and then take back to the hive. This will involve lots of directions(left, right, forward, backward, up down, behind above, and so on). We will be creating our own maps and others will be following our instructions/directions using the map to help take the bee to where they need to go.It is going to be a very exciting term.Lots of learning, creating and sharing.

Happy Holidays

This week all the children in Room 18 were really excited because it was the last week of school. we had been doing lots of easter crafts. We made easter baskets so that the Easter bunny could come and give us some easter eggs.
We made Easter hats to take home for the holidays.

When we got to school on Friday morning there were
two chocolate eggs in everyone's basket.

Azhan can't wait to eat some chocolate eggs.
